Carbon Fiber Black ASA — AMS Compatible
The best of both worlds: ASA's proven UV and weather resistance, amplified by milled carbon fiber for dramatically increased stiffness, strength, and a professional matte-textured surface. If you're printing functional outdoor parts, enclosures, brackets, or anything that needs to look sharp and hold up in the elements, this is your filament. Parts are rigid without being brittle — a common complaint with other CF products that we've specifically engineered against.
Carbon Fiber + ASA Benefits
- Increased rigidity and strength — milled CF (not powder or dust) stiffens the matrix significantly
- Deep black, slightly textured surface — no transparency, professional look straight off the printer
- UV and weather resistant — rated to 105°C, won't yellow or degrade outdoors like PLA or ABS
- Greatly reduced part shrink and warp — CF stabilizes the melt for better dimensional accuracy
- Reduced stringing and angel hairs — cleaner prints with less post-processing
- Better detail retention and sharp corners — CF stiffens the melt for crisper geometry
- Not brittle — unlike many CF products, parts retain impact resistance

⚙️ Print Setup Tips
ASA requires a heated bed and benefits greatly from an enclosure. Avoid part cooling fans and drafts. A hardened or wear-resistant nozzle is recommended — carbon fiber is mildly abrasive to standard brass nozzles over time.
🔬 Production-Grade Traceability & Quality Control
Every spool of Atomic Filament is manufactured under laser-monitored quality control — measuring diameter and roundness in real time throughout the entire extrusion process. This means every meter of filament meets our ±0.02mm tolerance, not just a sample at the start of the run.
- Batch-to-Batch Consistency: Each production run is logged and traceable — critical for jigs, fixtures, and functional end-use parts.
- Laser Diameter Monitoring: Continuous in-line measurement ensures no weak spots, diameter spikes, or ovality issues that cause clogs or failed prints mid-run.
- Made in Indiana, USA: Full visibility into our supply chain — from raw resin to finished spool — with no overseas black-box manufacturing.
Quality / Specs
- Print nozzle temp: 240–260°C
- Nozzle size: 0.40mm or larger — 0.50mm recommended
- Bed temp: 110–120°C — enclosure strongly recommended
- Diameter tolerance: ±0.02mm or better
- Roundness (ovality): ±0.02mm or better
- Note: Mildly abrasive to print nozzles — hardened nozzle recommended for extended use
